AMCB weekend in Amougies

March 9, 2003 - Our first Malamute weekend in Amougies has been great fun and certainly worth repeating. The AMCB is an active breed club, amongst others organising a yearly meet and greet event in Amougies (Belgium). This weekend aims for people to meet again and of course be outdoors and join activities with our dogs.

Although we have been training with our cart for several weeks now, we did not bring it for the mushing tour as it is rather heavy and Amougies is situaties in uneven surroundings. So we joined the mushers on both Saturday and Sunday morning with our bikes. To her great frustration both times Mascha's pedal fell of her bike forcing her to walk back... For the people that did not want to mush a nice walking tour offered a good alternative.

Overall we had a very good time, with plenty of food and drinks. Accommodations were fine as well: the dogs slept in their trailers or mobile homes and the two-legged attendants in a large group house.

We learned a lot and met many nice people and dogs!
