Athlete
Our Spike is definitely something else! We lovingly call him our 'huskymut'.
He has a slender, very athletic build with beautiful proportions. Perhaps not
what you'd expect from the typical male Malamute standard, but for working and
running Spikey is perfectly balanced.
Rescue
We adopted Spikey when he was 1 year old. He grew up with people that loved him
very much, but unfortunately got to spend less and less time with him.
Now that would normally already be a problem for any Malamute, but for Spike
it was a real disaster as he happens to be hyperactive and cheerfully nervous
and should basically work or run each day to loose that energy.
Perfect leaddog
Spike a very sweet, loving, happy dog and an extremely hard worker. Always highly
motivated, obedient and intelligent: he fully understood the mushing commands within
a few weeks time. Also he really thinks when he works, chooses the easiest and
most efficient path. This makes him a very good leaddog. Some things to consider:
Spike is quite nervous, doesn't like changes and has a panic fear for everything
thats smells like 'medical' or 'veterinarian'. Even if we approach him with something
as harmless as the tick pincer he flees in his dog house and we don't get to see
him for the next couple of hours! :-)
Ancestors
Below pictures of a few of Spike's ancestors. His
pedigree tells you all about
their relationship to him.
